Part 2 of my current favorite things=web pages. Below are links, and descriptions, to some of my current fav clicks.
1. This is a compilation list of those annoying life questions. Like, why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? This is another list of the same kind.
2. This site is called “Electoral Compass.” You answer a short list of questions, and it tells you where on the political landscape you are, and what candidates are closest to you. I first loved it because it makes you think through a) what ALL the issues really are and b) what you actually think about those issues…as opposed to just throwing support behind candidate x just because. I then loved it because it placed me right where I would have thought I should be, which showed it’s accuracy.
3. Here’s a list of SWEET google search engine functions…most of which I bet you never knew existed. I love google more and more with each passing day. “What’s the definition of qat? I don’t know. Let me google it.” The noun has become a verb. How fantastic is that?!
4. Check out this world clock. Kind of depressing, kind of anxiety causing, kind of cool….
5. I am easily fascinated by such strange things. First, I love info and trivia. I probably won’t remember it, and will never be able to beat my dad at Trivial Pursuit, but I love it nonetheless. Second, I’m fascinated by sleep. What a strange concept! Should not sleep alone prove to the watching world that humans are fallible, flawable, and createable? Check out this site with interesting sleep facts. (Yes yes, I know those last two words are not actually words.
)
6. The Hawaii chair. The epitome of consumerism. Redic.
7. I love love loved this article on why Huckabee should drop out now.
8. And last, John Piper posted this poem by his son Karsten. It’s a piece of writing that speaks straight to the depths of your soul. Read the poem before you read the scripture reference. Let the last stanza wash over your heart.
Happy clicking!
